Who I Am

Welcome to my Blog about Letting Go!

I am challenging myself to a Year of Letting Go of what holds me back from being me; the Authentic Me.

Up to now, I've lived life as I was expected to live.  Always.

While I've been blessed with much joy, humour and love, I've suffered more than my fair share of agonizing self doubt, pain and uncertainty.  I haven't allowed my Authentic Self to live openly.

This year I will let go of everything that has been holding me back.

One Pledge at a time.

My goal is to slowly unravel the mummifying confinement of the emotional obstacles that lie between me and my authentic self.

Coincidently, I begin this life change at the Autumnal Equinox, a moment of stillness before the Earth shifts direction, a day that allows our past and future to merge in the present.

Who is this Authentic Self I seek to unveil?

She is Me, unmasked.

She is introspective, a listener and a nurturer.

She is active, outdoorsy and immersed in nature often.

She writes, reads, makes art through music and handwork and surrounds herself with simple, beautiful things.

She grows plants, herbs, vegetables and flowers.

She studies native plants and takes notes in order to remember.

She cooks and preserves food and teaches her grandchildren this skill.

She is tidy in her person and her surroundings but not a fanatic.

She makes healthy choices most of the time but occasionally indulges in decadence.

She is happy in her own skin.

I've seen glimpses of my Authentic Self as she emerges occasionally.

When I blink she is often sunk back into her mindless phone scrolling shadow sister-self.

Lately she has been staying a while as the path is clearing for her permanent residency.

I am Letting Go of all that stands in her way.
